This abandoned castle is nestled within a forgotten field just outside the city of Glasgow. These doors still stand after a hundred years of abandonment.

This find was completely by accident. I had become lost traveling from one site to the next, turning a corner and the church loomed up from over grown blackberry bushes and stinging nettles. my excitement was palpable and couldn't contain myself. This was the only shot i took and needed, as the church speaks for itself.
Garish yellow paint confronted me, mold climbing the walls turning a minion yellow to black. Pews drowning in dust and pigeon shit.
Many asylums were shut down through lack of funding or malpractice. This one was shut down for the later, electric shock therapy was the norm here, but even with its shady past its hard not to see the beauty that has been left behind.
A carpet of moss covered the floor, water dripping through a roof that had long gone. A single tree struggling to grow, roots clawing at the scant covering of the floor.

Along side abandoned buildings, there are people who have also been abandoned, forgotten. they find places to hole up making a life were ever they come to be. Even to a burnt out motel along side a busy high way in Victoria, Australia.
